Hoosier Cup Tournament ResultsVarsity vs. Bedford North Lawrence
The Providence Varsity Boys played Bedford North Lawrence (BNL) in the final round of the Hoosier cup in Bloomington. The Pioneers struck in the 5th minute when Andrew Wimp played a nice direct kick from mid field over the defense to Josh Maled who headed the ball past the hard charging BNL keeper and into the goal. Josh was injured in the ensuing collision with the keeper and was out for the remainder of the game. At the 30 minute mark PHS got their second goal when a throw in was nicely touched over to the weak side of the goal by Max Neace. Senior midfielder Trent Brown was there to head the ball past the BNL defense to make the score 2-0. PHS took at 2-0 lead into the half.
The Pioneers
came out flat the second half and opened the
door for BNL when at the 25 minute mark the
defense failed to close down on a BNL midfielder
racing down the left side. The goal fired up
the BNL team and they then equalized the
