Head Coach's Comments- Adam Giovenco

Second-year coach Adam Giovenco thinks a veteran senior class will find a way to win those narrow contests this season.

The Pioneers have 11 seniors on their roster, eight of which are starters. The seniors are Kelyn Mann, Robbie Guilfoyle, Hunter Mattingly, Jared Knight, Nick Rogers, Brad Orem, Brendan Jones, Eric Stackhouse, Brad Coombs, Drew Stephens and Jake Marino.

“Each one brings something different to the game and their attitudes and performances will be the key to our success,” Giovenco said. “Last year we lost six games by one goal and also had a tie. I really believe this year we have a team that cannot only compete, but can win those types of games.”

Assistant Coach’s comments - Brandon Rogers:

With 9 seniors returning this year, I think we are going to have a very strong team.  If we can come together and play the type of game that Providence Soccer is known for, we are going to surprise a lot of teams. We have a very tough schedule, and there is not doubt that this team will have its trials, but in order to overcome those trials, we are going to have to rely heavily on this senior class...and a bit of good coaching of course.  We have several up and coming stars out of our underclassmen, and I will expect that they keep this group of seniors on their toes, and working hard!!  This bunch consists of some really great kids, and I hope that we can make the best out of this soccer season and bring home that sectional/regional/semi-state.... title!!
