We're proud of the way you fought hard to win all season. We know you are disappointed with the loss and the fact that it wasn't even a great loss, but once we get a little time we can think back on the highlights of this great season. For example, playing Avon so tough in the Hoosier Cup, defeating two Oldham County teams - one ranked 4th, tying St. X for the first time, winning Sectional and Regional. Wow - we have great memories of all four years, but this one was extra special. Thanks from your parents and fans!! And how do you top winning the Sectional for the first time in 4 years? With the birth of future soccer player Paige Marie to Coach Gio, Julie, and big sister Audrey. Congratulations to the Giovenco family. See a picture and more info. Guys - you continue to amaze us with your ability to GIT ER DONE. Congratulations on a great 1-0 win over Seymour to bring home the Regional Trophy. We applaud your effort and your heart. Thanks for the thrills (and the heart attacks!) We are so proud and we love you! We believe in BLUE and we believe in YOU! The boys will have to carry on the soccer banner for Providence. The girls lost a heartbreaker in the second shootout on Friday night in the sectional final. It was a valiant effort though and we applaud the awesome effort from the whole team. Providence defeated Madison Shawe 2-1 in the Regional Semi-Final on Wednesday. We'll have a rematch against Seymour at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. That's right 4:00. And how do you top winning the Sectional for the first time in 4 years? With the birth of future soccer player Paige Marie to Coach Gio, Julie, and big sister Audrey. Providence over Jeff 1-0 in overtime. Savor this special win. Did you enjoy that feeling of the trophy in your hands? This is only the beginning of our quest. You CAN do it again. We believe in Blue and we believe in you!! Thanks to all the great Providence fans who supported the team at the Sectional Final. We covered at least 2/3 of the bleachers plus all the folks at the fence. We especially thank all the team alumni and their families who came to cheer this team to their victory. There WAS no doubt - we were not there to see our team go home empty handed. Come cheer our team on at the Regional. Providence successfully defeated Restoration Christian 5-0 in the first game of the Sectional. Providence defeated Christian Academy in our last home game of the season. Providence had a disappointing defeat of 3-0 against Evansville Memorial in the pouring rain. Our Providence Seniors celebrated their night with a 2-2 tie with St. Xavier of Louisville (currently ranked #1 in Kentucky). See the Evening New/Tribune coverage here. Congratulations to our team members who were recognized on Wednesday night at the Academic Recognition Dinner. These guys maintained a least a "B" average with no grade below a B for all four quarters last year. Our three seniors on the list did this for all three years at Providence. Providence fought hard for victory against Madison and was victorious with a 3-1 score. Providence suffered it's second defeat in the South Oldham tournament on Penalty Kicks after a 0-0 tie with Holy Cross. Providence won their game against Shelby County by a score of 3-1. Providence had a heartbreaker loss to Bishop Brossart tournament on penalty kicks after regulation ended in a 2-2 tie. Providence scored a huge win over Oldham County 4-0. What a great team effort! Keep it up guys!! Providence had a good showing at the Hoosier Cup. Click for the details of the Mishawaka Marion game - a 3-1 victory and the Avon loss - a 1-0 heartbreaker. Providence defeated Jennings County for the second time in a week by a score of 1-0. Providence Varsity and JV celebrate wins over Jennings County. Congratulations to the JV team on their defeat of Charlestown and their sweep of the Jeffersonvile JV Tournament. Providence remains unbeaten with a 1-1 tie at Seymour. Three grueling nights - three wins! Go Blue! North Oldham defeated 3-1 and Corydon defeated 4-0. DeSales defeated 3-2. Click on the name of the opponent to see a recap of the game.
